High Physical Support

Three High Physical Support SDA homes are planned for a new inclusive housing development at Mitchell Park, expected to be completed in 2027.

We’re excited to announce a new inclusive housing development coming soon to Mitchell Park. The development will include three Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) homes for people with High Physical Support funding, alongside two additional accessible homes that will be rented to non-SDA eligible tenants.

Together, the homes will create a welcoming neighbourhood where people with and without disability can live side by side, with opportunities for privacy, independence and community connection.

The SDA homes will include accessible design features, space for support, and opportunities to explore home automation based on the needs and preferences of the future tenants.

We are inviting early expressions of interest from eligible NDIS participants. Registering early may give future tenants the opportunity to help shape parts of their home, such as colour schemes, materials, and technology options before key construction stages are reached.

Planned features

  • Accessible bathroom with rails
  • Wide doorways and pathways
  • Undercover carpark access
  • Secure front and back yards
  • Air conditioning and heating
  • Raised garden beds
  • Outdoor deck and entertaining area
  • Passive solar design to support energy efficiency
  • Two bedrooms, providing the option for support or family to live with the SDA participant.

Location

The Mitchell Park development is planned in a well-connected area close to everyday services, health care, education and green space.

Nearby places include:

  • Flinders University
  • Westfield Marion
  • Flinders Medical Centre
  • Tonsley Train Station
  • Tonsley Reserve
  • Village Green Tonsley
  • Warriparringa Wetlands

Who these homes may suit

These three homes are well suited to NDIS participants with High Physical Support SDA funding who are looking for a new home in an inclusive neighbourhood and would like to be involved early in decisions that help shape how their home looks, feels and functions.
